Doorways provides rapid access to mental health and substance use services, including walk-in counselling services, same-day and/or next-day services. The Gathering Place has a range of programs and services that are facilitated by community volunteers, including a daily meal program, and access to social workers. You can view their website here.
The Hope Valley Centre serves youth between the ages of 12 and 18 years that reside in Newfoundland and Labrador. The centre is a provincial service for youth with problematic substance-use issues. They offer short-terem withdrawal management and stabilization services as well as longer-term residential addictions treatment.

Peer supporters draw upon their personal recovery experiences to guide in navigating through their journey, with each peer support session tailored to the individual, ensuring a supportive experience.

Lifewise was created by and for individuals who experience mental health and/or substance use challenges. Lifewise provides individual and group peer support services through their Warmline, which can be accessed daily from 10AM-12AM by calling 1-855-753-2560 (English) or 1-833-753-5460 (French).

Quadrangle is Newfoundland & Labrador’s provincial 2SLGBTQIA+ Community Centre, and offers free counselling service through phone, video, or drop in sessions.

The Recovery Centre is a 19-bed provincial inpatient treatment and withdrawal management centre for individuals ages 16+. This service can be accessed by self-referral, or by a medical professional, community agency or hospital emergency department.

Right Here, Right Now Counselling is a program that provides single session therapy to women and non-binary people (18 and over) in the St. John’s area. Counselling is available on a drop-in or call-in basis.
